I did not find this book useful. It has one page of directions, followed by a topographical map and many pages of pictures to illustrate the parts of each hike. I had to zoom in because the page of directions is not text, more like a photo itself and I just found the book too clunky to process well. I wound up using an alternate book for hiking info.Product details

Wow. This book is the model for hiking guides. It has everything - instructions on how to get there, lots of color pictures of each hike, topo maps, elevation profiles, difficulty, length, popularity, and more. The first part of the book has descriptions of places to stay and eat. It also has weather and temperature information for each month, sunlight information (since Lofoten is above the arctic circle) and other information useful for visitors. Of the hikes I've looked at so far, they are all single-day hikes.
A beautifully detailed travel guide and author's travel journal. This book offers everything, and more, a traveler/hiker would require to plan a hiking trip to the Lofoten Islands. The guide covers every detail from where to eat, stay, and hike as well as what to expect during those hikes. The photo journal pictures are breathtaking and expertly taken. As this book was written by the hiker, details to the important information needed by hikers are laid out to perfection. If you had not planned a hiking trip to this area, after reading this book you will definitely make plans to go.
